Goal:
SINA's goal is to grow the business of all members through personal referrals.
Procedure:
SINA's goal will be accomplished when each member obtains referrals for other members of the group while conducting his/her daily business, personal business and social activities*.
- Listen - when a need is voiced, mention the SINA group and member who can fulfill the need.
- Observe - if you see a need, mention the SINA group and member who can fulfill the need.
- Open the door - prepare the prospective client by giving a member's card and asking permission to pass on his/her name for a call.
(*example: A friend is expanding business locations. SINA can provide the services of a realtor, background check, fleet vehicles, legal advice, accounting and tax preparation, phone systems, security systems, website advertising, insurance, investment services, medical insurance billing and problems...you get the point.)
Membership
Business Categories:
- One business per business category will be allowed Membership in SINA. (One background check business, one residential real estate agent, etc.)
- Businesses that have specialty areas may have a representative business for each specialty area. (A dermatologist, an OBGYN, and a pediatrician may all be members)
- If your business category is filled, you will be put on a waiting list for a possible opening.
Applications:
- Applications are submitted to the Executive Board.
- If there is a question concerning overlapping of categories, the member(s) involved will be consulted before a decision is made concerning new Membership.
- The Board makes the decision to approve or not approve Membership. Only reputable businesses with good performance record and positive feedback from references will be considered for Membership.
Attendance Policy:
- Breakfast meetings will be held weekly on Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
- A representative of Member businesses is expected to attend every meeting.
- If a Member business representative is absent from two (2) consecutive meetings, the Vice President will make a clarifying phone call.
- If a Member business is not represented four (4) meetings in one quarter, the Member will be invited to attend a Board meeting to discuss the situation.
- A Member business will be asked to leave the group if absent from ten (10) meetings in one year.
- The Board recognizes there may be extenuating circumstances; these will be taken into consideration.
Meeting Procedures
Guests
The inviting Members introduce Guests at the beginning of the meeting. The President introduces Guests who came on their own accord. This clearly identifies who are the Members and who are Guests.
Introductions
Members distribute cards or literature, introduce themselves and give a capsule (15-30 second) description of one aspect of their business.
Leads
- Leads are shared after introductions have been made.
- Success stories from previously received leads will be shared.
- Lead forms will be in triplicate, one for the Member originating lead, one for the Member receiving lead, one for SINA.
- The secretary will be responsible to keep copies of leads and track the number of leads brought by each member.
- A quarterly revue of leads submitted will be made and results published to the group. If there is a Member business with a poor lead submission record that continues for a second quarter, a contact will be made by the Board.
Presentations
The final 15 minutes of each meeting will be devoted to a detailed presentation from one member business. These presentations are scheduled on a rotating basis.
Elections:
Elections will be held the first meeting in March and September. New officers will assume responsibilities at the following meeting.
Special Events:
SINA will select one worthy cause to promote and support per calendar year. Suggestions for fund-raising events for this worthy cause will be made by the Membership and decided upon by Membership vote.
Social Gatherings:
SINA will host occasional Membership social gatherings throughout the year such as a lake outing, cook out, or pool party. This will be decided upon by Membership vote.
Conflict Resolution:
Conflict between members will be addressed in the following manner.
- Member to Member.
- The originating Member will bring unresolved conflict to the Board. At this time a record of the complaint will be made.
- The Board will contact the other Member.
After three (3) unresolved conflicts involving the same Member(s) have been recorded, the Board will review to determine action.
